Odisha Govt Grants 3-Month Grace Period for e-KYC of Ration Cards

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended a three-month grace period for Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries who have not completed the mandatory e-KYC process for their ration cards, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced on Monday.

As per the minister, ration supplies have been temporarily suspended for over 20.58 lakh beneficiaries across the state due to non-compliance with the e-KYC requirement. However, their ration cards have not been cancelled yet.

“These ration cards will remain under temporary suspension during the grace period. Beneficiaries must complete the e-KYC within the next three months to continue receiving subsidised food grains,” said Patra. He warned that failure to complete the verification process within the stipulated time will lead to permanent deactivation of the ration cards.

The state government has appealed to all affected individuals to complete their e-KYC at the earliest to avoid losing their entitlements under the food security scheme.
