Odisha Govt Approves Second OISF Battalion to Boost Industrial Security

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen industrial security in the state, the Odisha government has approved the creation of an additional battalion of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF). Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has given his nod to the proposal, aiming to enhance safety measures for industrial and business establishments across Odisha.

According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday, the state government has sanctioned the creation of 1,040 new posts in various ranks and positions for the new battalion.

Currently, the OISF operates with a single battalion comprising 1,807 personnel. With the addition of the new unit, the total strength of the force will rise to 2,847 personnel.

“The state government is prioritizing the development of Odisha’s industrial sector. The decision to form a second OISF battalion reflects our commitment to ensuring robust security for industries and business units operating in the state,” the CMO stated.

The expansion of the OISF is expected to bolster investor confidence and contribute to the creation of a safer environment for industrial operations across Odisha.
