Odisha Govt Approves Construction of ‘Atithi Bhawan’ in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved the construction of a new guest house, ‘Atithi Bhawan’, at Unit-II in Ashok Nagar, Bhubaneswar, as part of its Outreach Programme aimed at improving accommodation facilities for visitors from various districts.

The approval was issued on Monday through an order from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department. The official directive, signed by the Director of Estates and Additional Secretary to the Government, outlines that the facility will cater to people visiting the state capital for official work, healthcare, and other essential needs.

“Government, after careful consideration, has been pleased to approve the proposal for construction of ‘Atithi Bhawan’ at Unit-II, Ashok Nagar, Bhubaneswar… to accommodate the visitors coming from various districts to the State Capital,” the order stated.

Around three acres of land have been earmarked for the project, covering multiple plots detailed by the Directorate of Estates.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve convenience for district-level visitors and further strengthen the state’s outreach and public service infrastructure in the capital.
