Odisha Government Extends Additional Casual Leave for Women Employees to 12 Days for Menstrual Health

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the entitlement of additional casual leave (CL) for women employees in the state government. Women employees will now be eligible for 12 days of additional casual leave, up from the previous provision of 10 days, specifically granted for the menstruation period.

This new allowance enables women to take one day off per month, addressing the challenges they face during their menstrual cycle. The leave entitlement is in addition to the regular 10 days of casual leave and the 5 days of special casual leave that women employees are already entitled to.

The move is aimed at promoting a supportive work environment and recognizing the importance of menstrual health for women employees.
