Odisha GM Arrested for Bribery in Subarnapur

The Odisha Vigilance arrested Bipin Kumar Dehuri, the General Manager (GM) of the District Industries Center (DIC) in Subarnapur, on Saturday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from a complainant. Dehuri had reportedly asked for the bribe to process and approve a loan application under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP).

The bribe money was recovered from Dehuri’s possession during the raid. Following the arrest, simultaneous searches are being conducted at three of Dehuri’s locations as part of an investigation into his disproportionate assets.

A case has been registered at Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station under Section 7 of the P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018, and the investigation is ongoing. Further details are awaited.
