Odisha: Fine Collected Over Rs 5.24 Cr In April For Not Wearing Mask

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Odisha police had collected a fine of more than Rs 5.66 crore in the month of April from people for not wearing masks and following the social distancing norms. Informed DGP Odisha.

DGP Odisha, Abhay’s further stated that around 1.5 lakh people either fined or prosecuted during the month for violation of Covid 19 guidelines.

Around 350 shops or other institutes were sealed for violations of the Covid norms.

During the month of April 418 persons were arrested for the violation of Covid 19 guidelines and nearly 18,000 vehicles were seized and more than 1,300 excise cases lodged. Informed DGP

“It has been observed that a substantial number of people are not following the Covid protocols. The number of Covid cases will decline in the State if people wear masks all the time,” he added.
