Odisha FC Suffer First Defeat of the Season Against Kickstart In Hero IWL

The Juggernauts suffered their first loss of the season in a hard-fought match against Kickstart FC in their second Group B match of the Hero Indian Women’s League 2023 at the Shahibaug Police Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 30. Despite a strong start with a clear advantage on goal in the 20th minute, Anju was fouled by an opponent defender, and the ref called the goal back. Bala took the resulting free-kick but unfortunately, the effort went in vain as the ball hit the wall.

In the 35th minute, Kickstart took the lead, and despite the Juggernauts’ efforts, they were unable to level the score. In the 75th minute, Kickstart doubled their lead with a powerful header, securing their win and 3 points.

While the loss is disappointing for the Odisha FC, they showed great spirit and determination throughout the match. They will undoubtedly continue to work hard and improve as they progress through the season.
