Odisha Extends Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana by Five Years

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to boost farmer incomes and promote agri-entrepreneurship, the Odisha Cabinet has approved the extension of the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) for another five years.

Following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja announced that the proposal from the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department had received approval. The extension includes a budgetary allocation of ₹847.14 crore to provide subsidies to agri-entrepreneurs.

The MKUY, first introduced in June 2018, aims to encourage agricultural entrepreneurs and generate employment in the farm and allied sectors. The scheme has previously undergone revisions in December 2020 and January 2024.

Officials stated that the extension will help modernize agriculture in the state and unlock Odisha’s potential in the farm and allied sectors.

In addition to the MKUY extension, the Cabinet approved a total of nine proposals during the meeting.
