Odisha Extends Corona Lockdown till April 30

Bhubaneswar (Pramit Pramathes): In view of rapid spread of deadly Coronavirus in the state, Odisha government has decided to extend the Lockdown period for another nine days to fight the highly infectious disease.
“In view of the situation arising out of Coronavirus, Odisha government decided to extend the lockdown period till April 30,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in a video message from Lok Seva bhawan here today. However, activities related to agriculture, animal husbandry and MGNREGS will be facilitated during the lockdown period following social distancing norms.
“In a larger context food security of the people is a major priority of the state,” Naveen said . The state cabinet has also given a proposal to Centre for extension of 21-day nationwide lockdown till April 30 to tackle the spread of COVID-19 in the country, Naveen said.
