Odisha Crime Branch Seeks Google’s Help on Threat

Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police has written to Google regarding a threat issued by Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun during the high-profile DG-IGP national conference held recently in the state.

Reports suggest that the State Task Force (STF) has sought information from Google regarding the IP address from which the threatening audio was sent via email. This marks the second time that Pannun has issued a threat.

On Saturday, Pannun warned of disrupting the DG-IGP conference with an audio message, and specifically targeted Bhubaneswar airport, advising people against boarding flights from there. This came after a similar threat issued by Pannun on November 28, a day before the conference, in which he warned of potential disruptions.

The police have initiated investigations and are working with tech companies to track down the origin of the threats.
