Odisha Congress launches ‘Nari Nyay’ to support women facing violence

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress has launched a new initiative, Nari Nyay, to combat rising crimes against women and offer timely support to survivors in the state. Inaugurated by OPCC President Bhakta Das and Mahila Congress chief Minakshi Bahinipati, the campaign includes a 24×7 Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell at Congress Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
Aggrieved women can file complaints directly through email at womencellodishpcc@gmail.com or use a QR code linked to the grievance portal for swift digital access. “Congress will stand with every woman whose voice has been ignored. This redressal cell is our commitment to ensure no woman in Odisha feels abandoned,” said Bhakta Das. “We’re not just here to listen—we’ll actively pursue cases with the police and administration for quick action.”
Minakshi Bahinipati highlighted that Nari Nyay is a grassroots-level campaign focused on providing legal aid, counseling, and real-time support. “This is more than politics—it’s our moral obligation,” she stated.
Launched soon after the state’s BJP-led government introduced its Shaktishree scheme for girls in higher education, Congress leaders emphasized that empowerment must begin with safety. Nari Nyay, they said, is a people-powered platform for justice rooted in empathy and accountability.
