Odisha Chief Secretary Ahuja’s Tenure May Extend
Bhubaneswar: As Bhubaneswar set to host two major events in January 2025, the tenure of Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja is likely to be extended beyond December 31, 2024. However, the duration of the extension remains uncertain.
Ahuja, a 1990-batch IAS officer, was appointed Chief Secretary in July 2024. His term may be extended by six months to a year, though official confirmation is awaited.
Bhubaneswar will host the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from January 8 to 10, 2025, followed by the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha event from January 28 to 29, 2025. Ahuja’s leadership is seen as crucial for the successful organization of these high-profile events.
Manoj Ahuja was appointed Odisha’s Chief Secretary on July 1, 2024, following the swearing-in of the new government. His appointment came after a request by the state government for his deputation from the Centre.
