Odisha Cabinet Approves 11.25% SEBC Quota in Higher Education Institutions

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Tuesday approved six key proposals from various departments, including a significant decision to introduce reservation for students from the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in higher education.
In a move aimed at promoting inclusive education, the Cabinet approved a proposal to reserve 11.25% of seats for SEBC students in all government-run higher education institutions across the state.
Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Majhi said the step will help ensure better access to education for students from backward communities and promote social equity in academic opportunities.
