Odisha: 15-Year-Old Missing, Feared Drowned in Subarnarekha River
Jaleswar: A tragic incident unfolded in the Balasore district of Odisha as a 15-year-old Class 10 student went missing in the Subarnarekha River. The missing boy, identified as Sahil, is the son of Manoranjan Das from the Gada Sahi area of Baliapala.
Reports indicate that on Tuesday around 1:30 PM, Sahil had gone for a swim in the river with two friends, Chandan, son of Kambunath Jena, and Debashis, son of Sushanta Majhi. While swimming, Sahil reportedly slipped and was pulled into deeper waters. His friends attempted to locate him but eventually returned home without him.
When Sahil failed to return for an extended period, his family began searching for him. Concerned villagers alerted the local Sarpanch, who in turn notified the Fire Services Department. Prior to the arrival of the fire personnel, villagers attempted to locate the boy by spreading nets in the river, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.
As of the latest updates, search operations are ongoing, but Sahil has yet to be found. The community remains hopeful for his safe return.
