Odia Bureaucrat Santosh Sarangi Appointed New DGFT

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Odia bureaucrat Santosh Kumar Sarangi has been appointed as the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The 1994 batch IAS officer is presently posted as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy in the Ministry of Education.

Santosh will be the first Odia IAS officer to take charge as the DGFT. He has five long years of serving in the Ministry of Commerce as Joint Secretary and Chairman APEDA. After completing his Central deputation he had served in Odisha as the Principal Secretary in the Department of Science & Technology.

Later, he had left the State and joined as Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy in the Ministry of Education.
