NYCS Called 12-Hr Petrol Pump Bandh On July 13; Statewide Protest From July 7

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Over the hike in petrol price, the Congress party in Odisha called for a 12-hour statewide Petrol Pump Bandh on July 13.

Petrol pumps will remain closed from 6 am to 6 pm on that day as a part of the protest.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has broken the backbone of people. During this pandemic, oil prices have increased manifold which has further affected the common man. Oil prices have also crossed Rs 100 mark in more than 150 cities of the country,” said Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Niranjan Patnaik.

Patnaik further added “People are suffering because of the hike in fuel prices. The Centre must slash the oil price to help people fight the pandemic. We also urge common people to join us in the protest.”

Another similar campaign will be organized by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) statewide protest from July 7 to July 17 over the fuel price hike.

Apart from this, there will be conduction of door-to-door survey for a month to collect information on the number of COVID infectees and deaths by Congress workers, later the findings will be submitted to All India Congress Committee (AICC), informed OPCC Chief Niranjan Patnaik.
