Nuakhai: September 10 Announced Holiday for Western Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The Revenue Divisional Commission(RDC), Sambalpur announced September 10 as a holidays for Western Odisha on account of the Nuakhai, a phenomenal festivity of the region.
According to the notification, the schools, colleges and government offices belonging to the Western Odisha, will remain closed for having Nabanna and performing other rituals of the agarian festival.
Worth mentioning, the Nuakhai falls on September 8 which is a Sunday. The state government had earlier declared September 9 as a holiday for the Nuakhai, for the people of Odisha as a whole.
