Nuakhai fest inspires to work together, respect elders: CM

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Sunday said the Nuakhai festival of western Odisha inspires the people to work together and respect the elders.

Addressing a Nuakhai Bhetghat function organised here by Paschim Odisha Agrani Sangathan, he said, “Nuakhai celebrates our culture. This festival inspires us to work together and respect elders. If we follow the message of Nuakhai, we can build an ideal society and developed state.”

The Chief Minister also lauded Sambalpuri folk dance, song and saree saying that these are now famous worldwide.

President of the Organisation Kishore Mohanty spoke about the culture of western Odisha and the history of Nuakhai festival.

Felicitation and book release function were held on the occasion.
