Nor’wester backed rain to continue till May 3

Bhubaneswar: Nor’wester backed rain will continue in Odisha for 5 days starting today. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center has issued a forecast for lightning, thunder, hailstorm and heavy rainfall in various parts of the state until 3rd May.

Orange warning has been issued for 6 districts Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in the next 24 hours.

Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued for 4 districts Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul and Dhenkanal for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow warning for 17 districts for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour.

Yellow warning has been issued for 14 districts today for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in some places of these districts. Similarly, yellow alert has been issued for 10 districts for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.

The temperature has decreased due to the effect of Nor’wester called Kalabaisakhi in the local dialect. There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the next 4 days. The temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the next three days.
