Norwester backed rain to continue in Odisha till April 17

Bhubaneswar: Norwester backed rain will continue in Odisha till April 17, predicted the MeT Department today. Hence, there is relief from heat wave at least for another 72 hours.

As per reports, rain has been experienced in various parts of the state under the influence of the west cyclone. The trough line has spread from Bihar to the north coast with the west cyclone. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center has predicted heavy rain with lightning and hailstorm in some places of Odisha today.

The forecast by the weather department also says that the same weather condition will continue till 17th April.

There was orange warning for 8 districts yesterday. Today, orange warning has been issued for 7 districts. Orange warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak districts. In these districts, there is a possibility of rain along with wind at a speed of 40 to 50 km.

Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for 12 districts today. Rain will lash in these districts followed by Thunderstorms while the wind will flow at 30 to 40 km per hour.
