Normalcy restored in BMC office

Bhubaneswar: Normalcy has been restored in BMC office in Bhubaneswar. All the officials have resumed work after the arrest of Jagannath Pradhan. The security at the BMC office building has been heightened.

Security personnel have been deployed outside the BMC building. They will be given the necessary training to avoid such situations in the future informed BMC Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil.

He further added that gunmen have also been deployed keeping in view the security. Plans to hand over some of the management responsibilities to BMC after consultation with Smart Cities office is also being discussed.

He also said that the investigation report on the Swachha Sathi will be issued soon.

BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo is currently on leave now.

It is worth mentioning here that officials of several places including Balasore and Cuttack has resumed work in their offices. On Thursday, the Odisha Administrative Services Association (OASA) withdrew the cease work agitation after the arrest of Jagannath Pradhan in the BMC Additional Commissioner assault case.

Officials from Balasore and Cuttack have also joined office. Additional Collector, Cuttack Shiba Toppo said that OASA as per their decision to withdraw the cease work have joined office from Friday.
