Nirbhaya Row: Fresh Death Warrant Issued, Hanging on Feb 1

Reporters Today, New Delhi: After the rejection of mercy petition of Mukesh Singh by Indian President, a fresh death warrant has been issued today for the hanging of Nirbhaya rape and murder convicts on  February 1 at 6 am.

The hanging of all the four convicts will take place at the same time in Tihar jail of national capital.

Meanwhile, alleging foul play in the matter, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi today, said that political parties were playing politics over the sensitive issue and deliberately delaying the punishment of convicts.

“It has been seven years and we didn`t get justice. The government can`t see our pain. Parties are playing politics on my daughter`s death. I think the hanging is being deliberately postponed,” Asha Devi told newsmen.
