NIA Raids Malkangiri and Sukma Over Maoist Links

Malkangiri: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently conducted raids in Odisha’s Malkangiri district and Chhattisgarh’s Sukma town to probe suspected Maoist activities.

In Malkangiri, the raids took place at Anantapalli village under Motu police station limits, while in Sukma, searches were carried out at two locations. The Hyderabad-based NIA team targeted individuals linked to Maoist operations.

Two traders from Sukma—one involved in the weekly market trade and another in the transport business—were arrested on September 26 for alleged Maoist connections. They were subsequently produced in court. The raids focused on their residences as part of the investigation.

Further details are awaited.
