NIA branch office to open in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) to open a branch office in Bhubaneswar, informed the Home Department of Odisha Government.

As per a notification issued by the Home Department, the NIA branch office to be set up at VSS Nagar of Bhubaneswar and a Superintendent of Police (SP) will remain in-charge.

The address of the NIA branch will be O/o Superintendent of Police, In-charge, National Investigation Agency Police Station, Regional Telecom Training Centre (BSNL), Vani Vihar (Near Tarini Pitha), VSS Nagar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha – 751007.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2 (1) (u) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), the State Government do hereby declare the office specified in Column (1) of the Schedule below as a Police Station for the area specified in Column (2) thereof, in respect of investigation of Scheduled offences under National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) for exercising the powers under the provisions of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023). Same shall come into force on date of publication of this notification in Odisha Gazette,” read the official notification.
