Newly joined Revenue Official caught red-handed by Vigilance

Bhubaneswar, July 25: Yet in a case of sheer corruption, a newly joined revenue official in Bhubaneswar was caught red-handed by Vigilance with Rs 30,000 bribe.

The accused has been identified as Sourav Tripathy, Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA), Special Certificate Section at Sub-Collector office, Bhubaneswar.

Tripathy was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking the bribe for a Miscellaneous Certificate Case.

Finding no other way, the complainant reported the matter to the Vigilance authorities.

Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Tripathy today.

The entire tainted bribe money was recovered from his possession and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Tripathy, JRA from DA angle.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case under sections 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
