Navy Day Celebration at Puri to Feature 15 Warships, 40 Aircraft

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Navy is set to showcase its maritime strength with a grand operational demonstration (Op Demo) on Puri’s Blue Flag Beach on December 4, marking the Navy Day celebrations in Odisha for the first time.

According to an official statement, the event will feature 15 warships and 40 aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft. Indian Army battle tanks and military equipment have also arrived in Puri for the occasion, making it a multi-force demonstration.

A full-dress rehearsal is scheduled for December 2. “Marine commandos will be the highlight of the event, and we assure the public a spectacular celebration,” an Indian Navy official said.

President Droupadi Murmu will attend as the chief guest, underscoring the significance of the event. The celebration aims to enhance public awareness of India’s maritime capabilities and honor the country’s rich naval heritage.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that seating arrangements will accommodate local spectators and tourists, allowing them to witness the live demonstration from the beach. The event will also be broadcast live on national television and streamed on the Indian Navy’s YouTube channel.

The Navy is collaborating with the Odisha government and local authorities to ensure smooth execution of the event.
