Naveen Approves R&R Package for Expansion of SCBMCH
(Pramit Pramathes) Bhubaneswar: To renovate and expand SCB Medical College and Hospital in The Silver City in order to make it a state-of-the-art hospital with 3000 patient beds, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved rehabilitation and resettlement package of affected people, business establishments and other organizations.
As per the Naveen’s announcement, the government will directly acquire the land owned by the individuals in an approved process for the project by paying them compensation under Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act–2013.
The authorities will provide Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to each family for expenses towards transport and other emergency services. The Cuttack collector, who will execute the rehabilitation and resettlement policy, can take a decision to increase and change the financial assistance to affected families and organizations following the recommendation of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner, Central Division.
The displaced families sheltered at temporary houses will be provided foods for the maximum period of eight days. The CMC will make all arrangements for transport of articles of people for their relocation. Besides, the government announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to vendors and fish sellers registered under CMC for their relocation apart from making system to refund their security deposits.
