Naveen appreciates Supreme Court’s decision on Polavaram

Bhubaneswar: A day after Supreme Court ordered for public hearing in the respective tribal’s areas of Odisha and Chhattisgarh likely to be affected due to the Polavaram project in adjoining Andhra Pradesh, Odisha Chief Minister expressed his appreciation of court’s action.

In his official twitter handle @CMO_Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has tweeted today: “CM @Naveen_Odisha appreciated Supreme Court’s direction to Centre for submission of revised parameters for public hearing in tribal areas likely to be inundated in the event of Polavaram project being constructed and assured conducting free & fair hearing on time: CMO”

Also it has been tweeted: “CM Naveen Odisha said that order to bring revised data on changed design flow into consideration will pave way for determination & restoration of legitimate rights & address genuine demands of people of Odisha and our tribal brothers and sisters of Malkangiri”

Notably, the apex court has also directed the Centre yesterday to submit a report on the terms and conditions of the Polavaram project by Saturday (December 1) before posting the next hearing on Monday (December 3).
