Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan activits detained by police

Bhubaneswar: Police on Monday detained scores of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) activists ahead of the culmination of ‘Jan Satyagraha Padayatra’. The members were prevented from proceeding to the state capital and were taken into custody from different places .According to reports, the NKSS members were taken into preventive custody.

Police detained hundreds of activists at the Keonjhar railway station in the morning. Police also picked up the co-ordinator of NKSS Subash Panda.

Apart from this, several activists were detained by the cops at Kuakhia in Jajpur and Balugan in Khurda district on Sunday night while they were on a ‘Padyatra’ to Bhubaneswar.

Earlier, the Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan announced to hold two Padyatras from October 29 to November 5 demanding ‘fair price’, ‘pension’ and ‘prestige’ for the farmers of the state.
