More 50 Persons Associated With Jagannath Temple Test Covid Positive

Puri (Reporters Today Bureau): As many as 50 persons connected with Srimandir in Puri have tested positive for Covid positive informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today.

Out of 50 positives, 22 are servitors and their family members 19 are shoe stand workers,  9 are Jagannath Temple administration staff, informed Sri Jagannath Temple Administrator Ajay Kumar Jena.

Worth mentioning, 17 sevayats are the returnees of Kumbh Mela out of which 2 have tested negative for Covid and 13 reports are yet to come in and two have not tested till now further informs SJTA Administrator.

The temple will remain closed on weekends for sanitization as part of preventive actions to avoid transmission of the Covid 19.
