MLA Pravat Biswal discharge from SCB, now to move for AIIMS-New Delhi
BJD’s Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal, who was arrested by CBI in connection with the Seashore Group chit fund scam had been undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for past nine months, was discharged today on Saturday.
According to the source, for better treatment he will be sent to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
“I returned home today after 9 months. I will meet my family members before going to New Delhi for treatment,” an evidently weak Biswal said speaking to reporters.
Reacting over being selected for the Pandit Nilakantha Samman (Best MLA award), Biswal said,” I have always worked with dedication. I came to know about the award today and feeling happy about it.”
Notably, Biswal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the wee hours of September 19, last year from his Mahanadi Vihar residence in Cuttack for his alleged complicity in the Seashore Group chit fund scam.
