Mishap during Bahuda Yatra: Four minor boys injured after being crushed under chariot

Sonepur: An unfortunate incident occurred during Bahuda Yatra celebration at Binika of Odisha’s Sonepur district as four devotees, minor boys, sustained grievous injuries after being crushed under a chariot on Sunday.
As informed by sources, hundreds of devotees of all ages had gathered in Binika to take part in the Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings today.
As per the schedule, Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja was pulled by the devotees. It was followed by Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana. Subsequently, Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha chariot was slated to be pulled.
However, a stampede like situated erupted while the Taladhwaja and Darpadalana chariots were being pulled. Following this, four boys – three from Kansaripada and one from Nuapada- came under the wheels of the chariots and sustained grievous injuries.
All of them were rushed to the Binika Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment. Later, one of them was shifted to Burla VIMSAR hospital as his health condition deteriorated.
