Minor Girl Abducted & Rape Case: 8 Held

(Pramit Pramathes) Jajpur: In a drastic development to the alleged kidnap and rape of a minor girl in Jajpur, police today arrested four persons, including a woman, and produced them before court.

The cops arrested main accused Satya Narayan Samal’s brother-in-law Santosh Barik, Constable of Dharmasala police Station, aunt Puspanjali Behura, cousin Mohan Mohanty  of Neulapur and aide Abdul Rahman.

With the fresh detaintion, the total number of arrest in this case climbed to eight. Earlier, police had arrested main accused Satya Narayan Samal, his brother Rudra Narayan Samal (26) and sisters Banita Pradhan(24) and Kabita Sahoo(23) in this connection.

Worth mentioning, the16 year old minor girl was kidnapped near Chandikhol when she was returning to her village on January 14 evening. She was later forced to consume a soft drink, following which she lost consciousness. Later, the culprits dropped the girl at Barabati village on January 18. On the same day, the girl’s father lodged an FIR in the police station alleging that her daughter was abducted.
