Mercury Soars High in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reels under heat as the temperature in the state increases with each passing day. The temperature has increased by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. The IMD has predicted that in the coming week, the weather is likely to remain dry.
The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), forecasted that the temperature will soar high in both costal and central parts of Odisha. The mercury will rise especially in parts of Western Odisha.
Temperature is likely to reach between 30 to 34 degrees Celsius in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur and Nuapada districts.
The mercury crossed 35 degrees Celsius for the first time in 2025 as Jharsuguda recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, a yellow alert has been issued to as many as 16 districts in Odisha.
