Matric exam unlikely to be affected due to Sambalpur BSE office fire

Sambalpur, Dec 24:  The fire in their branch office in Sambalpur will not affect the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations scheduled in February next year, senior officials of the board have said.

These officials are member of a team from Cuttack which visited the Board of secondary Education office that was set on fire by some miscreants recently.

The team, during the inspection, found office assets such as steel furniture, tables, chairs and ceiling fans in the main hall damaged extensively and also files pertaining to forms and fees submitted by students for the forthcoming annual HSC examinations.

BSE Assistant Secretary Balaram Hota said, “We verified the extent of damage to the properties including the files that had the examination forms and fee payment slips. This would not pose any problem for the students in appearing in the annual examinations as their names have already been uploaded on the BSE website.”

However, the contents in the record room are intact, he added.
