Marine police, Navy heighten security and ask fishermen to carry identity cards at all times

Puri: The coastal security in Odisha has been tightened in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack. A patrolling was done by the Astaranga marine police limits with the combined team of Naval officials and the marine police along the Devi river mouth.
The patrolling team is checking the identity of the fishermen in the river. They have been asked to inform of any suspicious movement or unknown person in the area.
The police officials advised the fishermen to carry Aadhar cards along with them every time they go for fishing. They also instructed the fishermen to ask for the marine cards of any unknown entrant and their voter Identity cards also. The officials also gave a phone number to the fishermen on which they can contact in case of suspicious activity.
An official said, “After the Pahalgam terror attack, security has been heightened at the Devi river mouth. We have instructed the fishermen to inform us on suspecting any illegal activity.”
