Maoists Kill Two Former Sarpanchs Near Odisha Border

Malkangiri: Maoists have allegedly killed two former sarpanchs near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border in Malkangiri district. The victims were identified as Sukhram Ablam, former sarpanch of Kader Panchayat in Bijapur district, and Sukul Farsa, former sarpanch of Biryabhumi Panchayat.

According to reports, the two were abducted on Tuesday and later found dead near Adabada. Authorities suspect they were executed by Maoists under the suspicion of being police informers. Maoist posters were found at the scene, confirming their involvement, Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) stated.

An investigation is underway, and security forces have intensified surveillance in the region.
