Manoj Kumar Mohanty Appointed as OPSC Member

Bhubaneswar: The Governor of Odisha has appointed Manoj Kumar Mohanty, IAS (Retd.), as a Member of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). The appointment has been made under Clause (1) of Article 316 of the Constitution of India, along with Regulation 5 of the Odisha Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952.
Mohanty, a former Additional Secretary in the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department, will serve a term of six years from the date of assuming office or until he attains the age of 62 years, whichever comes earlier.
His tenure will be governed by the OPSC (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952, including any amendments notified from time to time.
The appointment was officially confirmed in a notification issued by the GA & PG Department, which stated:
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 316 of the Constitution of India, read with Regulation 5 of the Odisha Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952, the Governor of Odisha has been pleased to appoint Shri Manoj Kumar Mohanty, IAS (Retd.), Ex-Additional Secretary to Government, GA & PG Department, as Member, Odisha Public Service Commission…”
The appointment is seen as a significant addition to the state’s premier recruitment body, as Mohanty brings decades of administrative experience to the role.
