Man Thrashes Wife to Death in Baleswar

Baleswar: In an unfortunate incident, a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death following a heated argument in the Oupada locality of Baleswar district last night. The deceased has been identified as Sarmila Singh (30).

As per reports, the incident took place in Paikapada village in Fatepur panchayat under Oupada police limits when a quarrel ensued between the accused, identified as Ramchandra Singh (35), and his wife over some issue. Later, it took a violent turn when Ramchandra, in a fit of rage, started thrashing Sarmila with a wooden plank. As a result, she sustained grave injuries on her head and died on the spot.

On getting the information, Oupada police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem. The cops have also detained Ramchandra for integration. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
