Man Hacks 2 Women to Death in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A man allegedly hacked two women to death at Expressway Colony in Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur district, today. According to reports, accused Chintua Nath (35) attacked one Anita Rout (42) of the locality with a billhook and a pipe, this morning. Subsequently, the woman died on the spot.

Hearing screams of Anita, another woman namely Nirmala Lenka (54) came out of her house while the man also attacked her. She was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the Kujang Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The accused also launched attack on Nirmala’s son and two other persons. They sustained injuries in the incident and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. The weapons of offence have been seized by the cops. The bodies have been recovered for post-mortem. Preliminary probe by police revealed that Chintua was under mental stress during the last few days.
