Maiden One-Day International win for Nepal
Adarsh Rout: Nepal’s first-ever one-day international win in a low-scoring thriller over the Netherlands proved their hunger to succeed, said captain Paras Khadka.
Nepal’s historic two-match ODI series ended all square after they pulled off a last-ball victory in the second match by one run on Friday, 3 August in Amstelveen.
Nepal set the Dutch a 217-run target and were able to restrict them to 215/10. Wesley Barresi top scored with 71 runs, but was unable to get his side home. Nepal skipper Paras Khadka defended five runs off the final over and handed his team a dream victory. He was also accountable for the run-out of Fred Klaassen (13) off the final ball of the match. Klaassen and Paul van Meekeren added 30 runs for the final wicket. It looked like they would get their side past the line, but Khadka had other plans.
