Maha Kumbh: ECoR announces 7 special trains covering Odisha districts

BHUBANESWAR: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced seven special trains to facilitate the travel of Odisha’s devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The special trains will cover several key districts across the state, including routes from Bhubaneswar to Tundla and back, serving the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Kendujhar.

Besides, the Puri-Tundla-Puri special train will serve the districts of Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Baleswar.

For those in western Odisha, the Titilagarh-Tundla-Titilagarh special will cover districts like Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh. There will also be a Visakhapatnam to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU) and back, serving Rayagada, Balangir, and Nuapada.

Another special train from Visakhapatnam to Gorakhpur will cater to districts including Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda.

For pilgrims from southern Odisha, the Tirupati-Banaras-Tirupati Kumbh special will cover Rayagada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Rourkela in Sundargarh.

Lastly, the NS-Banaras-NS special will serve Rayagada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Rourkela (Sundargarh).

All these special trains will pass through Prayagraj, where the Maha Kumbh Mela will take place from January 13 to February 26, attracting millions of devotees seeking spiritual purification.
