Madhapur protests of educational facilities

Madhapur: A 12-hour bandh is being observed here Friday to protest against lack of educational facilities at Madhapur under Athamallik block in Angul district.

Sikshya Banchao Kriyanusthan Committee and parents, under the leadership of advocate Anjan Kumar Pradhan, are observing the bandh in protest against the long-lying vacant posts of teachers at Madhapur High School.

The school has been under lock and key since Monday. Agitating parents feel that the eight sanctioned assistant teachers, a head master and two peons were not enough for the present strength of 395 students .The school is being run by a skeleton staff consisting of one head-master, two science teachers, a Hindi teacher, a Sanskrit teacher, a PET and a female peon.

Concerned officials have not yet visited the school.
