Light Drizzles and Cloudy Skies Over Odisha on Christmas
Bhubaneswar: Odisha woke up to light drizzles and overcast skies this Christmas as several parts of the state, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, experienced intermittent rainfall. The cloudy weather and rain showers have disrupted communication and dampened celebrations in some areas.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rainfall is a result of a low-pressure system active over the Bay of Bengal near the Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu coast. The system is expected to move northwest and gradually weaken, bringing light rain to southern and central Odisha throughout the day. Some regions may witness moderate rainfall.
IMD predicts that weather conditions will turn dry by December 26. Over the next 48 hours, night temperatures are expected to remain stable. However, a drop of around 3 degrees Celsius is likely from December 27.
Western winds will influence weather patterns across the country starting December 27, potentially bringing light rainfall in certain areas. Following this, winter is expected to intensify, resulting in colder temperatures across Odisha and other regions.
