LeT Militant Arrested from Baramulla

Pramit Pramathes (Reporters Today): Two days after three militants including top Jaish-e-Mohammad leader Qari Yasir was killed in a police encounter in Pulwama, the Jammu and Kashmir Police nabbed another militant from Baramulla district today.

19-year-old Sajid Farooq Dar is said to be affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and was arrested from Andergam Pattan area of Baramulla in the wee hours today. Earlier on Monday, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed during an encounter between the security forces and militants at Arwani village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said.

Reports says, the security forces tried but were unsuccessful in making the local militant surrender. An Army personnel also reportedly sustained injuries in the encounter, which ended with the killing of the terrorist. The body was retrieved from the site and the killed terrorist has been identified as Shahid Khar of Kulgam.
