Law Minister orders probe into controversy surrounding Digha Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today gave an ordered for probe into the ongoing controversy surrounding Digha Jagannath Temple in West Bengal.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan directed the Puri Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to conduct an internal inquiry into the controversy that erupted after the idols of the holy trinity were made using surplus neem wood from the Nabakalebar ritual and its naming as “Jagannath Dham Digha.”

The Law Minister has instructed SJTA Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee to investigate the matter and bring the truth to light as it has hurt the sentiments of devotees of Lord the Jagannath and people of Odisha.
