Law Minister denies allegations of Modak theft

Puri: Answering to the allegation of Modak theft at Puri Srimandira, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Tuesday denied the allegation. He said that no Dasamula Modaka has been stolen in the Lord Jagannath temple.

As per reports, the Law Minister said that such misleading allegation is not acceptable. The SJTA Chief Administrator has clarified that no such stealing of modak has been taken place at Srimandira. Hence, strict action will be taken against the people who have brought such misleading allegations, the Minister said.

Some people have spread lies to show their influence. The modak was not stolen, the Chief Administrator clarified, the Minister confirmed.

The Law Minister said that he has sought report on this issue. When the modaks are taken to be offered to the deities nobody counts. Hence, the allegation of 70 modaks going missing is misleading. Strict action will be taken against the people who are behind such misleading allegation.

It is to be noted that earlier today Haladhar Das Mohapatra, the Badagrahi of Bada Thakura at Srimandira alleged that 70 out of the 313 Dasamula modaks were missing.
