Kolkata police sets up 5-member SIT to investigate alleged gang rape of law student

Kolkata, June 28: The Kolkata Police have constituted a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged gang rape of a law college student by senior students within the institution’s premises, an official confirmed on Saturday.

The SIT will be headed by an officer of Assistant Commissioner rank and is expected to begin the investigation without delay.

“A special team has been formed to look into the matter. The probe will commence immediately,” the official stated.
