Khurda Women Raise AIDS Awareness Through Play
Pipili: Young women from Balakati in Khurda district staged a compelling play on Friday to raise awareness about AIDS, a life-threatening disease caused by the HIV virus. The performance, held at the NIRMAN educational institution, aimed to educate the public about the importance of preventive measures.
In the play, the performers took on roles as doctors, nurses, and patients to highlight the dangers of using unsterilized medical equipment. They emphasized that using infected syringes or failing to wear gloves during treatment can transmit HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which causes AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome).
The play also warned against other transmission methods, such as the use of infected tattoo needles and unprotected sexual intercourse. The performers stressed the importance of using sanitized equipment and practicing safe behaviors to prevent the spread of the disease.
Their dramatic representation resonated with the audience and effectively conveyed the message of defeating AIDS through awareness and precaution.
