Keonjhar DFO in Vigilance Snare

Keonjhar: Search operations by the Vigilance officials on properties linked to Nityananda Nayak, OFS-I, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kendu Leaf Division, Keonjhar, have revealed that Nayak and his family members own a total of 115 plots, multi-storey building and vehicles.

According to the anti-corruption team, during house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Nayak and his family members;

  • One four storeyed building with area approx. 9000 Sqft. at Turanga, Angul.
  • Total 115 nos. of plots. Details as under; (53 plots in name of Nayak, 42 plots in name of his spouse, 16 plots in name of his two sons and 4 plots in name of his daughter). He has purchased all these plots in Chhendipada, Angul for the period from 1992 (since his entering into Govt. service as Range Officer) to 2024, while serving in different capacities such as Forest Range Officer, Asst. Conservator Forest, Dy. Conservator of Forest and Divisional Forest Officer. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
  • Cash Rs 1.19 lakh
  • Bank deposits, other deposits and investments etc. are being ascertained.
  • 2 four wheelers (Maruti Suzuki Dzire & Skoda Volkswagen Virtus) & 4 two wheelers.
  • Bank deposits, other financial investments, and assets are being verified.
